The fountain of youth

Today we went to a big church meeting (stake conference) in Ogden. Our meeting was in the building next to the Ogden temple, so we went a little early and took our camera for some shots on the pretty temple grounds.

Everything was going just swimmingly ... until Allison decided to go for a swim.

Actually, what happened was that Allison was sick of Olivia holding on to her, so she started to bite Olivia's arm. Olivia tried to yank her arm away, and in the mayhem, Allison lost her balance.
Before we knew it, she was submerged. Joe ran and fished her out. I stood gaping like a fool, with my hands over my mouth. Once the shock wore off, though, we couldn't stop laughing.

Joe took Allison home for the first half of the meeting. Then they slipped in and joined us for the second half. I'm sure people just figured he was out in the hall with a fussy child. :) Little did they know.

Secretly, Joe just wanted an excuse to miss the meeting. Notice - he was close enough to be the first to get to her...

:P

PS-I love your dress!

Oh my...I needed a good laugh after that meeting! Good speakers...not so good kids...no husband to help (only the evil eye from the stand). I love the sisterly love goin' on.

I saw Joe come in and that's exactly what I thought. Hilarious. I love that you laughed about it. What else could you do?

That's awesome - everyone always worries their kids will fall in fountains, but somehow, they never actually do. I can't believe she really fell in! What a story!

That reminds me of taking my grandkids fishing. We were fishing in the Uintas and little Jake fell in the lake. He didn't panic. He just laid on the bottom looking up with big wide eyes and bubbles coming from his mouth. We got him out but his dad was really mad at him. He couldn't help it. I think he was only about two and a half. We can laugh now.
